    Decemburger

My Quest for the Best Bacon Cheeseburger in San Antonio “…such stuff as dreams are made on…” ~from William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Act 4, scene 1, line 157 No, Prospero was not referring to burgers when he spoke of dreams in Shakespeare’s The Tempest, but let’s face it, maybe he would have, had he had access to the burgers in this town and a food blog of his very own. Win Lose or Pie

“Following the light of the sun, we left the Old World.” ~Christopher Columbus Okay. Perhaps it’s unfair of me to compare my voyage to the one in 1492 that Columbus took when he sailed the ocean blue. And what about a quest to find the best kolaches in the state? Well, we couldn’t find a reason not to, and so that’s what we did. We drove around the kolache regions of the great state of Texas (aka The Republic of Texas for you foreigners…) in search of the best kolache, and also to see…

    The Donut Ambition Tour

“Donuts. Is there anything they can’t do?” ~Matt Groening “A great tour deserves a name and a t-shirt!” ~Elda Eats So, when it comes to donuts (or doughnuts, if you prefer), I’ve always liked a good lemon filled (Shipley’s here in Texas has always been my favorite, as they have icing and not powdered sugar on them), Boston cremes are also a favorite (Dunkin Donuts are usually top-notch), and last but not least, a good old-fashioned blueberry cake donut. I also like a good apple fritter although I usually can’t eat an entire one (even before I saw the giant ones they serve up at The Original Donut Shop here…
