So, What Have I Been Eating?

Where have I been? One little trip saw me with Peyton and Liberty on the road to Marfa.

I don’t know how long Mr. Chaucer ever went without writing a blog post (you know, once he got started), but I will say that I’m sure he took a break to visit Canterbury in order to do research, perhaps try out some new writing implements, practice a new prose, etc. Lucky for him, he didn’t also have to worry about any Gutenberg updates to WordPress while he was dilly dallying! Yeah, yeah, I know. Twenty-first century new blogger problems, and yeah, I’m not really comparing myself to an amazing poet who is buried at Westminster Abbey. But, as usual, I digress…

If I would have been keeping up with my “best thing I ate last week” posts, this sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder from Boudin’s Fisherman’s Wharf location in San Francisco would have been it for that week, for sure!

Where have I been? What have I been doing since my last published blog post on November 5th? And for heavens sake, what have I been eating?!

I’ve been working on my website! It doesn’t even look like this anymore…

Where have I been? I’ve been happy! That aside, I’ve mostly been in San Antonio, but I did also visit Fort Worth, and Archer City, and then Fort Worth again, and Marfa, and San Francisco, and then all around town eating all kinds of tacos and most recently, burgers. Oh, burgers! (Stay tuned for that blog post: #Decemburger) What have I been doing since my last blog post over a month ago? Besides visiting those places mentioned above, I’ve been eating, of course…and learning! I’ve been learning about my website and about blogging, and about widgets and SEO and Google Analytics, and I’ve been learning that this year of 52 things has been pretty damn useful—besides having been a whole lotta fun! I also went an entire twenty-four hours without talking! Yes, it was as difficult as it sounds. Thank you for asking.

Besides taking the great Nomadic Matt Superstar Blogging Course, I’ve also been getting great tips from my good friend Yusuf Chowdhury https://www.facebook.com/yusufied and boy, have I needed the help!

And for heavens sake, what have I been eating? Or most important, what were the best things I ate in the last month in a half?

Well, what haven’t I eaten. I’ve been eating well. I gained seven pounds in San Francisco alone. And besides that, Thanksgiving happened since my last blog post. Oh, trust me, I’ve eaten well. If you really want to see how well, you may as well check out my Instagram profile and catch up: https://www.instagram.com/eldaeats

Shameless plug? Maybe. But really, this blog post is meant to let you know where I’ve been, to keep you updated on my progress—however slow that progress may be… And so if I may cheat a bit, my Instagram profile will definitely show you everything I’ve been eating and then you be the judge of what’s been the best.

Thanksgiving happened. And all of these things were very much enjoyed!

This blog post is also about telling you how happy I am that I’m still here, I’m ready to get rolling again and I’m further along in this technical thing called WordPress to where I feel like it’s getting to look more like a website. It’s not perfect yet and you’ll see some changes in the weeks, months (years, heck probably always, to be honest!) to come, but if you do see those changes, that means you’re following along with me on this journey, and for that I’m very grateful, and yes—happy.

Eating, and drinking, it all up.

Best thing I ate since November 5th? Oh, I’ve been eating up all this blogger stuff. Bon appetit, indeed, for this happy girl!

Of course, there were also tacos!

The longest and strongest loves + obsessions of my life have always been reading, writing, eating and traveling—and the adventures both big and small that have involved any or all of these. Whether by myself, with those I love most, or the new friends made along the way, my goal is to taste all the world has to offer. One adventure at a time.
