Traveling. Because adventures are forever.

Travel…as far as you can, as long as you can, as much as you can.

I posted most of this a few years ago, after I had been home a little over a week after a trip to London, Paris and Amsterdam and I was already ready for my next adventure. I was likely already planning the next one (which happened to be a Christmas road trip to see Mount Rushmore and then to cozy up in a cabin in West Yellowstone in Montana).

I’ve always loved traveling; I’ve always loved maps and globes and compasses; Christopher has always been my patron saint; I’ve always had that thing called wanderlust. I’ve always wanted to read about, travel through, eat and drink in places all over the world. As many as I can get to, as many adventures as I can have.

Maybe it comes from moving so much as a kid (21 individual cities/towns that I can count right now, and 12 schools—I loved being the new kid!) Maybe it comes from those family road trips, or from always reading about the history of the world. Or, maybe it comes from my love of eating new food and drinking new beer! And yes, I have always liked beer…even as a kid. What can I say, my great-grandfather Jacob was German.

Heck, even Peter and I got started after talking about a trip! (Of course, I had to find a man who also loved to travel!)

Anyway, I’ve always loved to travel, and I always will. Whether near or far, as long as I have air in my lungs, blood pumping through my heart and rational thoughts in my brain, I’ll be thinking about—and probably planning—my next adventure.

Representing Texas in beautiful Paris.

Texas + 41 other states + many, many American cities & towns + in and around border towns in Canada & Mexico + Toronto + Cancun + Cozumel + Acapulco + Saint Maarten + Saint Croix + Bahamas + Spain + France + Italy  + The Vatican + England + Turkey + Greece + The Netherlands + Ireland + Iceland + on ships floating on the Gulf and the Caribbean and the Atlantic and the Mediterranean + the next place, and then the place after that, and so on, and so on…

Who’s with me?

Where are you going next?

The longest and strongest loves + obsessions of my life have always been reading, writing, eating and traveling—and the adventures both big and small that have involved any or all of these. Whether by myself, with those I love most, or the new friends made along the way, my goal is to taste all the world has to offer. One adventure at a time.
